Marvel has just debuted a new banner for the upcoming Ant-Man, and it’s our best look yet at the superhero–and our very first look at the villainous Yellowjacket. That’ll be Paul Rudd under the Ant-Man helmet, and Corey Stoll (from House of Cards and The Strain) in the Yellowjacket outfit.
That’s all been kind of weird, since comic book fans will remember that Yellowjacket was originally Ant-Man, in the sense that scientist Hank Pym went schizo and showed up in the Avengers comic books as Yellowjacket, who claimed to have killed Ant-Man. We kind of hate to lose the idea of Yellowjacket showing up as a hero later on in the Avengers movies. He was always cooler than Ant-Man, even if Yellowjacket was a sign of Hank Pym’s impending mental illnesses.
Of course, Paul Rudd isn’t playing the original Ant-Man in this movie. Hank Pym is played by Michael Douglas, and Rudd is charming thief Scott Lang. Maybe the Yellowjacket technology will still get used for good before all of the action is over. Just check out that image above, and you’ll likely agree that Yellowjacket sure looks a lot more exciting.
