It’s been a busy year for gymnast McKayla Maroney–who’s really had no problem from moving on past the Smirk that Charmed the World during the 2012 Olympics. People could tell that this petite gal was packed with personality after she couldn’t hide her disgust at only winning a silver medal in London.
McKayla has been enjoying her adulthood, too. She turned 18 on December 9, 2013, which was right after her episode of Bones aired. We’d like to see a lot more of McKayla on the big and small screens, too. It’s hard to believe that nobody’s found a role for her in an X-Men movie yet. Fortunately, McKayla has been sharing lots of grown-up pics via her Instagram account.
She’s developed a whole new world of fans over the past 12 months. Let’s hope Hollywood is closer to catching on to some real star power. McKayla sure provided a legendary opening pitch this summer. Inside Gymnastics went ahead and put McKayla on the cover as one of their “50 Most Photogenic” athletes, and we can’t argue with that. Take a look for yourself and get excited over plenty more years with McKayla…
