The four-team playoff field has been officially announced on ESPN, with Alabama and Ohio State moving on to the Sugar Bowl, while Oregon and Florida State are going to the Rose Bowl. The winners of those New Year’s Day games will move on to the national championship being played on January 12 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. [photo: Tom Pennington/Getty]
These are going to be some amazing games, too. FSU has never gone up against Oregon, and has already won 29 straight games. This will also be the first time that Alabama has gone up against Ohio State in 20 years. The day isn’t over yet for big college football news, though. Coming up later this afternoon–the announcement of the full Top 25 rankings, along with the pairings for the other Orange, Cotton, Fiesta and Peach Bowls.
In totally unrelated news, certain COED staffers have decided to give up betting on college football games. Not that they ever did, anyway.
