We’re not sure why media outlets are making a big deal over a mild Bill Cosby joke on an episode of 30 Rock. We were thinking the other day that The Cleveland Show was a lot more graphic in goofing on Bill Cosby’s bad reputation.
Specifically, we’re talking about an episode called “The Way The Cookie Crumbles,” where Cleveland tries to go after a con man who ripped off his parents. Everyone learns a life lesson at the end, but the most serious lesson comes from a cartoon Bill Cosby. He’s in the cartoon setting of Fat Albert & the Cosby Kids, and intones these words of wisdom: “What you ought to be doing is sexually harassing a series of women and paying them to be quiet.
Well, we’ve been thinking about this ever since a few days ago, when Adult Swim ran that episode. We don’t know why they didn’t make a big deal out of airing that episode. We would’ve been prepared to tape the damn thing. Instead, we just kind of sat there and marveled at the timing.
Fortunately, someone at Youtube’s Comeuppance Reviews was videotaping the episode. They were literally videotaping the episode off the television. Maybe they were like us, and scrambling for something to preserve the moment. Anyway, check it out and use this to one-up anyone bringing up that 30 Rock episode…
