The Seattle Seahawks are a tight-knit group of players so when one gets in trouble with the NFL, the others are usually there to back him up. Marshawn Lynch was fined $100,000 by the league for not talking to the media last week and it prompted Richard Sherman to come out for a press conference with a cardboard cutout of Doug Baldwin to take the league to task.
Sherman and the cutout even had a conversation with Baldwin crouched down behind it looking to prove a point. It was almost too good to be true. Sherman even talked about things that the league doesn’t endorse and doesn’t want the players to be seen eating or wearing publicly like Beats by Dre headphones and Campbell’s soup.
After the two had their conversation, Sherman and the cutout went off stage without answering any questions. Obviously, the Seahawks players aren’t happy with Lynch’s big fine. Sherman decided it was up to him to come out with an idea to mock the league. His fine will be coming sooner than later and maybe even after the Seahawks play Thanksgiving Night in San Francisco but the stunt was priceless.
