Anthony Guban, a student at Morton College, was arrested and denied bail after a “large cache of assault-style weapons, handguns and ammunition” was found inside of his vehicle which was parked on campus, according to the Chicago Tribune.

In addition to the guns that were found in his vehicle, officers from the Cicero Police Department found around a dozen other guns and 3,000 rounds of ammunition inside of his home.

The 24-year-old Guban was charged with felony unlawful use of a weapon.

Guban, who does not have a criminal background, says that he began collecting guns as a hobby. Police also do not suspect that he had any violent intentions with his weapons at the school.

“We take this very serious, especially given violent incidents that have taken place in other cities around the country,“ Cicero police Chief Jerry Chlada said in the statement. “But given the evidence and witness statements and statements from the suspect, we do not believe that there was any intent to harm other students or members of the public.”

Along with remaining in custody, Guban was forced to turn over his firearm owner’s ID card and his concealed carry permit once he is out of police custody.

From the report:

The incident began around 3 p.m. Thursday when a friend of Guban’s, a fellow student at Morton College in Cicero, contacted campus police about Guban, who arrived to class late and was “acting strangely,” according to Cicero police and prosecutors.

Inside of Guban’s car was a 9 mm handgun, two other handguns, “an AR-15, AK-47 and Aero Precision 5.56 mm rifle — as well as loaded extended magazines and about 200 loose hollow-point handgun and ‘blackout’ rifle rounds” according to Assistant State’s Attorney Andreana Turano.
