Daniil Zasorin has been identified as the shooter in a rampage at a Russian college on Thursday, November 14, according to the Daily Mail. The 19-year-old Zasorin open-fired in a lecture after returning to class with a shotgun. He had been kicked out of the class for misbehaving earlier in the day.

Zasorin shot four of his classmates before ultimately turning the gun on himself.

The 19-year-old was described as “quiet and peaceful” by his fellow classmates who could not have anticipated such a horrible attack.

One of the classmates, 19-year-old Alexey Golubnichy, later passed away from his injuries in the hospital. The other victims — Egor Stasyuk, 17, Kasiyan Kamanets, 19, and Vladislav Rozhkov, 20 — underwent surgery for their wounds.

They reportedly suffered neck and back injuries.

From the report:

Witnesses described how a teacher had twice ordered Zasorin out of class for misbehaving during a lecture. He left the classroom but returned with a weapon, described in Russian media as an Izh-81 pump-action shotgun. The gunman’s bag was later discovered in the toilet with further bullets hidden inside and witnesses said the scene was covered with bullet shells.

“The attacker was acting along, he is dead. My deepest condolences to relatives of everyone wounded and killed, their families will be given support and help” said acting governor of the Amur region Vasily Orlov, via the Siberian Times.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of all of the victims and those who have been impacted by this horrible tragedy.
