The UFC was founded on November 3, 1993. In combat sports, nothing gets fans more excited than seeing a spectacular knockout to end a fight. The UFC has had many fights ended fantastically. That’s the thing about the sport a match can stop at any point in time fighters have to be ready for any blow that can potentially end the fight. There have been some brutal and crazy knockouts in the history of the UFC. Let’s take a look at five of the most brutal finishes in UFC history.

5.Cheick Kongo vs. Pat Barry

These two heavyweights clashed on June 26, 2011, the fight was a battle of the heavy hands. Both fighters are known for having knock out power, and that was put to the test. Both fighters hit each other some massive strikes till the end of this match, which was an excellent finish to the game.


4.Edson Barboza vs. Terry Etim

These two lightweights clashed at UFC 142 on January 14, 2012. Now both fighters were ranking up the lightweight division and would like to receive a title shot against Frankie Edgar. What fans got that night was an impressive knockout in the third round that left one fighter completely unconscious.


3. Dan Henderson vs. Micheal Bisping

When you think about some of the UFC’s greatest knockouts, the fight between Dan Henderson and Micheal Bisping has to come up. This bout took place at UFC 100 on July 11, 2009. Both men wanted that middleweight champion, which was held by Anderson Sliva at the time. The fight ended in a knockout in the second round with one of the nastiest cross and follow through ever.


2. Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Mikro Cro Cop

At one point in time, these two fighters were contenders for the heavyweight champion. Both fighters can end the fight with a devastating strike. The match took place at the main event of UFC 70 on April 21, 2007. The fight would come down to the most brutal head kick ever to leave one fighter sleeping on the mat.


1. Gary Goodridge vs. Paul Herrera

This is going back in time to the beginning part of the UFC. UFC 8 which took place on February 16, 1996. This was one of the cleanest yet rarest knockouts anyone has ever seen. At the time, there has never been a knockout in the crucifix position. That was rare, but it was really smooth, and it was brutal. Being hit with the elbows from that position was creative but was devasting to see.
