It’s Monday, November 11, a day we celebrate our military veterans who have put their lives on the line for our freedom. On Veterans Day, the Veterans Day Parade takes place in Manhattan, New York with a ceremony and parade through town that will feature over 300 marching elements and an estimated 20-30,000 participants, including veterans of all eras, military units, civic and youth groups (including Junior ROTC), businesses, and top high school marching bands from across America, according to the official website.
“Floats, military and vintage vehicles and other special elements add to the excitement,” the parade adds.
This year, there will be a special guest as President Donald Trump makes his way to New York City to take in the parade. It is unusual for a president to attend the New York City parade, because it is not meant to be a political event.
“The sole purpose of the NYC Veterans Day Parade is to honor the service of our veterans and to salute our currently serving military. It is a non-partisan, non-political event, and may not be used as a platform for any other purpose or political agenda,” the official parade website read.

The parade goes north on Fifth Avenue, from 26th to 46th Street. The route is 1.2 miles, and takes approximately 30 ~ 35 minutes.
How To Watch New York City Veterans Day Parade Online
The Veterans Day Parade takes place on Monday, November 11 rain or shine. The parade will officially begin at 12:00 p.m. ET after a one-hour opening ceremony inside of Madison Square Park. The Opening Ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. ET with a moment of silence to commemorate the precise moment of the Armistice that ended World War I. The Opening Ceremony ends with the laying of wreaths at the Eternal Light monument.
