The 2019-20 college basketball season officially kicks off on Tuesday, November 5 and opening day brings us a top 5 clash between the No. 3 Kansas Jayhawks and No. 4 Duke Blue Devils at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The two bluechip programs are facing off in the State Farm Champions Classic.
While Duke is fresh off of a season where they had stars like Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett leading the way, the Blue Devils will rely on a full team approach this time around as they look to contend for a national championship.
“It’s a different approach every year,” Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski told reporters, via ESPN.com. “This group is going to be a unit, not a starting five. Everyone’s got to be ready to play. I’d call it old school, like older Duke teams, from years past.”
Kansas, meanwhile, has veteran leadership in senior Udoka Azubuike and junior Silvio De Sousa.
