Dave Chappelle received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center recently, so he was back in front of a microphone. In typical Chappelle fashion and keeping up with his recent trend of calling out PC culture, the comedian once again called out PC culture for being used as a weapon by some.
Chappelle did soften his stance and say that there is a place for it, but when it comes to comedy he doesn’t let it impact his career or the type of material he covers.
“Political correctness has its place,” Chappelle said. “We all want to live in a polite society, we just kind of have to work on the levels of coming to an agreement of what that actually looks like. I, personally, am not afraid of other people’s freedom of expression. I don’t use it as a weapon. It just makes me feel better. And I’m sorry if I hurt anybody. Yada, yada, everything I’m supposed to say.”

This summer, Chappelle dropped his most recent Netflix special Sticks & Stones which also included a hidden epilogue titled The Punchline. Information on how to watch the special can be seen below.
