The Washington Nationals welcome the St. Louis Cardinals to the nation’s capital on Tuesday, October 15 as they look to punch their ticket to the first World Series berth in franchise history. St. Louis will need to win in order to avoid elimination and they’ll be relying on rookie right-hander Dakota Hudson.
Washington, which enters the game as a slight -127 favorite, will send left-hander Patrick Corbin to the mound as the look to sweep the National League Championship Series.
“No concession speech has been written,” Cardinals manager Mike Shildt said, via ESPN.com. “This is a team that can absolutely win four games in a row, and clearly we have to start (Tuesday). We have to get after it, which we will and which we have. We are in a tough spot, but there is precedent for it.”
