The Nationals and Dodgers take the field in Los Angeles on Friday, October 4 for Game 2 of the National League Division Series. The Dodgers were able to get the most of Washington in the opening game of the series, but things are about to ramp up with a star-studded pitching matchup taking center stage.
The Nationals will be sending Stephen Strasburg to the mound, despite three innings of relief in Tuesday’s Wild Card win over the Milwaukee Brewers, while the Dodgers will be going with Clayton Kershaw.
Strasburg threw 34 pitches during his relief outing. While it was unexpected, the right-hander is looking forward.
“It is something I haven’t done in a really long time and it is what it is, so just try to focus on what you can control and just disregard everything that you can’t,” Strasburg said, via ESPN.com. “That’s kind of the nature of the business. Sometimes you’re going to have to deal with some things that you wouldn’t expect and bottom line is you still have to go out there and compete.”
