Lucy Boynton, a 25-year-old British-American actress, is seeing her popularity soar to new heights thanks to her role as Astrid on Ryan Murphy’s new Netflix series The Politician. Boynton is no stranger to the headlines, after her role as Mary Austin in the Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody and her relationship with boyfriend and Bohemian Rhapsody co-star Rami Malek.
“I think that Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s stamp on the script is the first thing that gets your attention. And obviously the writing is of a certain level and quality that I really respect, so that was pretty thrilling,” Boynton said of her role, via Vogue. “And then, with Astrid, I’ve never played a character like her before, and it was really liberating.”
Boynton has also previously starred in the films Miss Potter, Copperhead, Sing Street, Murder on the Orient Express and Apostle.
