The Ultimate Fighting Championship heads overseas on Saturday, September 28 with UFC on ESPN+ 18. The event — which takes place at Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark — starts bright and early so mixed martial arts fans can get in an entire day of action. The preliminary card will kickoff at 11:00 a.m. ET, while the main card begins at 2:00 p.m.
It marks the first-ever UFC event in Denmark.
In the main event of the night, middleweights Jack Hermansson and Jared Cannonier will go head-to-head as they look to continue rising the ranks at 185-pounds. The co-main event, meanwhile, features lightweights Danilo Belluardo and Mark Madsen. The co-main event was initially slated to put welterweights Gunnar Nelson and Thiago Alves toe-to-toe, but Alves was forced to withdraw from the event due to injury. As a result, Nelson was rebooked to take on Gilbert Burns on the card.
Other main card bouts on the main card include Ion Cutebela vs. Khalil Rountree, Michal Oleksiejczuk vs. Ovince Saint Preux, and Nicolas Dalby vs. Alex Oliveira.
Prior to Saturday’s event, all of the fighters on the card had to hit the scale for the official fighter weigh-ins at the host hotel. Luckily for the fans who will be in attendance, all of the fighters from top to bottom successfully hit their contracted marks.
