A passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan went viral for a hilarious video during Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions. As it turns out, that man was an Ivy League admissions dean. The man was identified as Eric J. Furda, the dean of admissions at the Ivy League’s University of Pennsylvania.
Furda could be seen saying, “What are you looking at? Boooo!! What the [blank] are you looking at?”
Here is the incredible video.
But despite going viral for his tantrum, Furda was able to take everything in stride.
“Bottom line is that calls were missed that were basic and also in place for player safety,” Furda said after the video went viral. “Not sure what the refs were looking at today!
“After further review of the play I will take the 15 yard penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct But I will not lose my passion for Philadelphia and Penn sports! Thanks for all the interview requests but we have a game on Thursday to get ready for which I will watch at home!”
Furda’s colleagues were having fun with the viral video, too.
“I’m pretty sure we can all read some pretty colorful language in what he was saying,” said Robert Serianni, chair and program director of the department of speech-language pathology at Salus University in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania.
Unfortunately, we won’t get to hear much more from Furda, because he is declining interview requests.
Philadelphia ultimately lost the game to Detroit, 27-24. Up next is a meeting with the Green Bay Packers in primetime on Thursday Night Football. Philadelphia is currently in second-place in the NFC East with a 1-2 record.
