The Colorado State football program will take the field on Saturday, September 21 with their 150th-anniversary heritage uniforms from Under Armour when they take on the Toledo Rockets. Ahead of the official unveiling of the new uniforms, Under Armour provided some new details about the classic look.
The uniforms feature the original Colorado State color scheme of alfalfa green and Aggie orange. Paying homage to the school’s agricultural beginnings, the Colorado State uniforms will be a modern twist on the original 1893 look.
Colorado State was initially named Colorado Agriculture and Mechanical College before its name change in 1957.
Along with showing off their Heritage Uniforms on September 21, Colorado State will be hosting its 38th Ag Day, “a tradition that began in 1981 to showcase the important partnerships between CSU and commodity partners within the state, and to honor the school’s deep roots in Colorado’s rich agricultural history,” according to the Under Armour release.
The orange jerseys will feature a block “A” on each shoulder and paired with a white pant that has orange and alfalfa green stripes down the side. A block “A” will be on the left hip. To cap off the uniforms, an alfalfa green helmet will be accented with orange ram horns.
Kickoff between Colorado State and Toledo at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium is set for 10:15 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
