Comedian Bill Burr is back with his latest Netflix special Paper Tiger, which dropped on Tuesday, September 10. If you’re a fan of recent stand-up specials on the streaming service, you will enjoy Burr who brings his signature unapologetic attitude. Of course, there will be those who speak out against Burr’s stand-up special like was the case with Dave Chappelle’s Sticks & Stones, but that’s the point as he goes after PC culture.
Burr also goes after feminists and gender issues — like the role of a first woman, the #MeToo Movement, white male privilege, male feminists, marriage and much more — which you know will generate some social media backlash.
But again, that is the point.
By attacking PC culture and showing the hypocrisy that it brings, comedians like Burr and Chappelle remind us what comedy is supposed to be — an escape from reality and challenging issues by bringing an alternate, entertaining approach to otherwise taboo issues.
The special was filmed at the Royal Albert Hall in London, England earlier this year.
