The drama between Antonio Brown and the Oakland Raiders continues. After the wide receiver missed most of the preseason due to frostbite on his feet and a helmet issue, he could now be suspended for an altercation with team general manager Mike Mayock.
Brown and Mayock reportedly got into an argument after the wide receiver shared a photo of his fine letter from the team on social media.
“The Next Chapter: Antonio Brown and GM Mike Mayock got into it Wednesday, and the team is now planning to suspend its star wide receiver, league sources tell ESPN,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter wrote on Twitter. “Antonio Brown posted the fine letter on social media that Raiders’ GM Mike Mayock sent him. It led to an exchange, which is now leading to further discipline. This is not going away anytime soon.”

Brown posted to social media a letter from the G.M. informing him that he’d be fined for missing a practice and a walkthrough last month. That came after a summer that saw Brown off the field as he dealt with frostbitten feet and an ultimately futile bid to continue wearing a helmet that the NFL would not allow him to wear. During that process, Mayock said that Brown had to decide if he was all in with the team or not. It seemed for a time that the Raiders got the answer they wanted and Mayock recently told NBCSportsBayArea’s Raiders Insider podcast that “it’s been great since then” with Brown.”
Throughout his career in the NFL, Brown has hauled in 837 catches for 11,207 yards and 74 touchdowns. Last season, Brown recorded 104 catches for 1,297 yards and 15 touchdowns. In each of the last 6 seasons, Brown has recorded at least 100 catches and 1,000 yards.
Oakland opens up its 2019-20 campaign on September 9 in a Monday Night Football matchup against the division rival Denver Broncos.
