If you are on the sideline of a college football game, you have to pay attention. Just ask Louisville cheerleader Elizabeth Scott. Liz was going through her normal gameday routine when Notre Dame Fighting Irish quarterback Ian Book had a bit of a mishap.
Book tossed an errant throw to the sideline which smacked Liz right in the face.
She made a valiant effort to defend herself with her hands, but it was just a bit too late. The moment was captured on national television during Monday night’s game between the No. 9 Fighting Irish and Cardinals.
Whoops.
After the clip went viral, Liz took to social media to comment on the moment.
“My broken nose is twitter trending huh,” she tweeted. “Well my nose is crooked but I’ll always have a good story to tell.”
Despite the pain, she was able to joke about the incident with a timely meme.
Liz’s broken nose wasn’t the only unfortunate moment for the Cardinals throughout the night. When all was said and done, the No. 9 Fighting Irish came away with a 35-17 win at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium in Louisville.
Up next for Louisville is a meeting with the Eastern Kentucky Colonels on Saturday, September 7. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET on the ACC Network. Notre Dame, meanwhile, has the week off before returning to action in South Bend with a game against the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday, September 14. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
