ESPN college football analyst Paul Finebaum has made a habit out of trolling Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan football program. Now, ahead of the 2019 college football season, Finebaum is showing that he’s already in midseason form with his Wolverines trolling with recent comments to Sporting News.

While discussing Michigan’s chances in the upcoming 2019 campaign and how the team could perform, Finebaum dissed the team by implying they are just as overrated as ever and hinting they are not as nationally relevant as they want to believe.

“I think part of it comes from people in the South not really believing Michigan is worthy of all the conversation that they get,” Finebaum said.

“To me, Michigan always seems like that guy at the end of the bar that is just running his mouth, and then he sneaks out because he knows he’s about to get clocked. I just don’t think there is a high level of respect for Michigan.”

During Harbaugh’s tenure at Michigan, he has gone 0-4 against top rival Ohio State — something Finebaum often points to. He has also never led the team to a Big Ten Championship. As a college head coach, Harbaugh is 2-4 in the postseason. The good news for Harbaugh, however, is that he compiled a 96-41 head coaching record during the regular season throughout time with the Wolverines and Stanford Cardinal, where he coached the recently retired Andrew Luck.

The Wolverines open up their 2019 campaign on Saturday, August 31 against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. Kickoff at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on the Big Ten Network.
