Mega Man fans have had many reasons to be happy/hyped for the past two years or so. The reason why is because Capcom has been doing tremendous work with the “Blue Bomber” franchise as of late. The Japanese company has released two Mega Man Legacy Collections, covering the original Mega Man series, and published collections for Mega Man X to include the entire X series. Let’s not forget that they also released Mega Man 11 as well. And the company isn’t done yet.
Earlier this morning (Tuesday, August 27th) Capcom announced that they will be releasing six handheld Mega Man titles in one complete collection. This collection is titled Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection. This collection will be released on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC on January 21st, 2020.
Included in this collection are six handheld titles initially released between 2002 and 2007:
- Mega Man Zero (Gameboy Advance)
- Mega Man Zero 2 (Gameboy Advance)
- Mega Man Zero 3 (Gameboy Advance)
- Mega Man Zero 4 (Gameboy Advance)
- Mega Man ZX (Nintendo DS)
- Mega Man ZX Advent (Nintendo DS)
The Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection is getting a physical and digital release for all consoles and a PC release through Steam. The collection will be priced at $29.99 (that’s a great deal for these six games).
Included with this collection, besides the games, are some new features. These features include an HD filter for the games to make them have a smoother visual effect (don’t worry you can still have the original pixel look from the Gameboy Advance and DS systems), an accessible mode titled “Casual Scenario” for beginner players (these games are notoriously difficult), and a mid-level saving system for when you have to quit the game early. Beyond these in-game features, the collection will also include an art gallery filled with 600 pieces of art and a music player with original and rearranged soundtracks. However, if you do not wish to wait this long for the art gallery, Capcom has released a complete art book for the Mega Man Zero series, and it can be purchased on Amazon.
Hopefully, this trend of Mega Man collections can continue so we can get one for Mega Man Battle Network and maybe Mega Man Legends. In the meantime, this new collection will certainly do and we cannot wait to get our hands on it. Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection is coming our way January 21st, 2020 at $29.99.
