Dylan Bennett, a 22-year-old from Long Prairie, Minnesota, is wanted by authorities in connection to the deaths of his parents, 63-year-old Barry and 63-year-old Carol Bennett. According to CBS-4 WCCO, the Todd County Sheriff’s Office has located a vehicle connected to Dylan Bennett — a blue 2018 Hyundai Sante Fe — outside of the state.

Dylan was the youngest of the Bennetts four children and was one of two who were adopted.

Barry Bennett is a former NFL defensive lineman who had stints with the New York Jets, New Orleans Saints, and Minnesota Vikings. Bennett was a fourth-round pick of the New Orleans Saints after his collegiate career at Concordia College in Moorhead. He was also a national champion wrestler, with three national titles in the NAIA and NCAA Division III tournaments.

“We are saddened by the tragic loss of former Vikings player Barry Bennett and his wife, Carol,” the Minnesota Vikings said in a statement on social media. “Our thoughts are with their friends and family during this difficult time.”

“Based on information gathered during the investigation, it is determined that there is no threat to public safety at this time,” a statement from the Sheriff’s Office read.

The Twin Cities Pioneer Press added that Dylan had just graduated from Bemidji State University and had recently found a job in China. Anyone with information regarding Dylan Bennett’s whereabouts is asked to call the Todd County Sheriff’s Office or dial 911.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Bennetts family and friends during this incredibly difficult and tragic time.
