Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine is set to take the stand next month against his alleged kidnapper. And while the trial approaches, TMZ is reporting that the rapper, who is behind bars on federal racketeering charges, is afraid for the lives of members of his family members.
According to the report, “6ix9ine’s crapping his pants over testifying — worried about how his mother and brother could be harmed, and also for his own safety behind bars. We’re told he knows this could make him a marked man for life.”
The attorney for alleged kidnapper Anthony “Harv” Ellison claims the incident was staged.
“No robbery or kidnapping or assault happened,” Cannick said at Thurgood Marshall Courthouse on Friday, according to Complex. “It didn’t happen. He had an event that made it look like a robbery or kidnapping. They’re saying the car [where the kidnapping allegedly occurred] was wired by the government. We believe that’s going to be very helpful to the defense.
“[Tekashi] was about to drop an album. He trolls every time he’s about to drop another album. Gotta get your buzz up. That’s how you make money.”
While Ellison will have to see what comes from the kidnapping case, he learned that he was charged with a new crime relating to a slashing in October 2018 which was “related to a leadership dispute among members of Nine Trey.” The victim was reportedly slashed across the face.
Tekashia 6ix9ine pled guilty to nine charges after being arrested for federal RICO and firearms charges, including conspiracy to murder and armed robbery. He is due to be sentenced on January 24, 2020, and possibly faces a mandatory sentence of 47 years in prison. However, a plea deal shows that Tekashi could avoid jail time if he testifies against fellow gang members.
6ix9ine is currently cooperating with authorities in hope of reducing his sentence.
