Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his wife Amy were survived a serious plane crash in Tennessee, according to multiple online reports. Photos of a plane engulfed in flames on a runway began circulating with news that Earnhardt and his wife were on the plane.
Luckily, they were not injured in the crash, according to Elizabethton Fire Chief Barry Carrier.
The two pilots, the couple’s one-year-old daughter, and the family’s dog were also onboard the aircraft. Earnhardt Jr. has reportedly been rushed to a local hospital for further treatment on non-life threatening injuries.
“The Carter County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office confirms a small jet carrying Dale Earnhardt Junior and his wife crashed at the Elizabethton Municipal Airport,” news outlet Local 12/WKRC-TV wrote on Twitter. “Investigators say all on board survived and there’s no word yet on what caused the incident.”
The incident occurred at Elizabethton Airport — 20 miles from Bristol where a NASCAR race is scheduled for the weekend — after the private plane the couple was riding in ran off the end of the runway and burst into flames.

Dale Jr.’s sister, Kelley Earnhardt, confirmed that everyone on board is fine.
