Conor McGregor is back in the headlines and once again it is for all of the wrong reasons. TMZ Sports obtained a video that shows a violent outburst from McGregor at a Dublin bar, The Marble Arch Pub. The incident took place back on April 6.
McGregor lined up cups for everyone at the bar and was attempting to buy a round of his Proper Twelve whiskey.
One elderly man, however, attempted to pass on the shot. McGregor tried multiple times to place a glass in front of the man, but he continued to refuse. That’s when McGregor snapped and fired off a left hand to the man’s head.
McGregor was quickly separated from the man and escorted out of the bar.
Here is the video:
Police initially opened an investigation into the assault, but there is no word on whether the investigation is still ongoing, TMZ adds.
It is the latest violent outburst from the brash Irishman, who was previously arrested for the infamous dolly incident where he threw a hand truck through the window of a bus full of fighters at the Barclays Center. He also was arrested in Miami for taking a fan’s phone and smashing it on the ground.
Dana White has to be hoping to get McGregor focused back on mixed martial arts to avoid distractions outside of the cage.
McGregor, meanwhile, has called for a rematch with UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov — who was the last man to defeat him — and has also hinted that he would like to rematch Floyd Mayweather Jr. inside of the boxing ring. Whether any of those bouts was actually in the works is anyone’s guess, but they seem to be the only bouts that have piqued the brash Irishman’s interest since he began discussing a return to combat sports following his flurry of legal issues and suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his post-UFC 229 bout with Nurmagomedov and his team.
