Antonio Brown has been a magnet for the headlines during NFL training camp thanks to the Oakland Raiders wide receiver’s issues with his feet and helmet. Brown has been involved in the highly-publicized helmet drama and suffered frostbite on his feet thanks to a cryogenic therapy mishap, and now we are getting an even closer look at the damage that was done.
Brown had previously shown off his badly blistered feet on Instagram, but we got up close and personal during Episode 2 of the HBO series Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Oakland Raiders.
While the damage is significant, Brown remained in high spirits.
“My feet is pretty much getting circumcised, right? Right? For real,” Brown joked. “It’s kind of like a pull back right now. I’m [expletive] circumcised on my feet. Hopefully, my feet are born again, and I figure to run faster. Feel sorry for me later.”
That certainly doesn’t look healthy.
Brown also explained how he injured his feet, but did not mention inappropriate footwear as previously was reported.
“I got out, and I felt my foot burning,” Brown said. “I was like, ‘Man, I feel a hot sensation.’ The next like 24 hours it swelled up. It got really big. I couldn’t really walk or put pressure. The doctor came over, drained a little out. Scalpel the next day. Freaking scissors the next day. Just kind of let it leak all out. As everything leaked all out, I was able to put a little pressure. Thankfully, my trainer was working me out in the midst of my freaking… I can’t be on my feet.
“Now, it’s just like new skin, I’m just trying to get my feet used to feeling that, but I feel like I’ve just got a big whoopee cushion. You know?”
Now that the foot issue has been addressed on Hard Knocks, we will have to see whether the NFL Films camera crew and Raiders use a segment next Tuesday on the helmet saga.
