Logan Browning is one of the stars of the Netflix original series Dear White People. On the series, Browning stars as Samantha White who throughout the show has been a media student at Winchester University, Head of House Armstrong-Parker, and the leading activist and speaker for the Black Student Union.
Browning completely dove into the role of Sam White and draws inspiration from the character as she continues to seek knowledge.
“Sam is a rebel. She is the smartest person in the room and makes sure everyone knows it. She’s a creative. Despite her political rhetoric, she has a colorful mind and her compassion drives her to fight against the unjust,” Browning said in an interview with ESPN W.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, Browning attended Barbizon Modeling and Acting School and Vanderbilt University. Browning’s biological mother is Caucasian and was in enlisted in the Army when she gave birth at age 18. Browning was adopted by an African American couple.
The 28-year-old actress got her big screen debut in 2007 when she starred in the role of Sasha in “Bratz: The Movie.” She previously appeared in a handful of episodes of “Summerland” and “Ned’s Declassified School Survivor Guide.” She is also one of the stars of VH1’s “Hit the Floor.”
Season 4 of Dear White People dropped on Netflix on Friday, August 2.
