LeBron James has been living his best life as a proud AAU dad. The NBA star has been taking in his son Bronny’s games in Las Vegas with the North Coast Blue Chips travel team, and his sideline reactions have led him open to some criticism.
LeBron has joined the team’s pregame lay-up line, rushed onto the court to celebrate with the players, and even got so excited that he kicked off a shoe.
Some people believe that LeBron should tone it down and allow the spotlight to stay on the kids. That has led to a few days of LeBron being on the receiving end of media backlash from commentators online and “social media pundits.”
The players who are on the court, however, love having LeBron around.
In fact, AAU star Dior Johnson came to the defense of LeBron and explained why having the future Hall of Famer’s presence on the sideline is important to the team.
“This is Crazy to see … you guys take what this man does off the court for granted ….. sounds like hate,” Johnson wrote on Twitter in response to a tweet calling LeBron a “weirdo” for being so enthusiastic. “My Dad has never been to ONE of my basketball Games … In fact I haven’t even seen my father in 4 Years lol ….. Don’t let this go over you’re head! If you Realize … his Son is not even suited up lol And he’s still on his feet hyped for kids that are not his.”
Those comments were echoed by countless other players on the North Coast Blue Chips.
Regardless of what you think about LeBron, you have to appreciate that he still has such a strong passion for the game. And the fact that he is able to be there for his kid and bring some positive energy to Bronny and all of his teammates only adds to their experience as they continue to learn the game.
Stop hating, folks.
