Whitney Cummings is a popular comedian and actress who has starred in a number of sitcoms and produced multiple stand-up comedy specials. Born in Washington, D.C., Cummings went on to graduate from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania, magna cum laude with a degree in communications.
From there, Cummings moved to Los Angeles where she worked on MTV’s Punk’d. She later would create the CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls, the NBC sitcom Whitney in which she starred, and was a producer and writer for the ABC revival of Roseanne.
As a comedian, Cummings has produced four specials. The first, Whitney Cummings: Money Shot, and second, Whitney Cummings: I Love You, premiered on Comedy Central in 2010 and 2014, respectively. She would later premiere I’m Your Girlfriend on HBO in 2016.
Most recently, Cummings returned to her hometown of Washington, D.C. for her fourth stand-up special titled Whitney Cummings: Can I Touch It? which premiered on Netflix on Tuesday, July 30. The comedy special touches on modern feminism, technology, and more.
