UFC commentator Joe Rogan is in the headlines after an incredible gesture. According to women’s mixed martial artist Miriam Nakamoto, Rogan is set to cover 100 percent of her medical expenses for a procedure that will help her as she continues to recover from a severe knee injury that has halted her professional MMA career.

Nakamoto has not competed since Invicta FC 7 in 2013 where she suffered a torn ACL.

She has appeared multiple times on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast since her injury and revealed in a social media post that the commentator, stand-up comic and podcaster is set to cover her medical expenses to receive a stem cell procedure.

“So …this happened today. I’m struggling to find the words,” she wrote. “I’ve been trying to make a comeback for almost 6 years now. I’ve come close a few times. But I kept having difficulty with my knee. There’s not much to be down with a grade 3 lesion on a meniscus besides stem cell therapy. I didn’t have $30,000 so I did the best that I could, but I still always came up short. And then this happens today. I’m still in shock. Thank you Joe Rogan. See you soon Dr. Riordan!”

She also commentated on her Instagram story saying: “Since yesterday, I’ve kind of been in shock. I wanted stem cell therapy for a long time, since the doctor told me it was really the only option for me. And to be given that gift just… kinda couldn’t process it. But now just seeing that picture from the fight when my knee blew out.”

Nakamoto, who is now 42 years old, is an eight-time Muay Thai world champion who held a 16-0 record. In kickboxing, Nakamoto was 14-0. As a professional mixed martial artist under the Invicta FC banner, Nakamoto was 2-1 with her only loss coming due to a doctor’s stoppage when she injured her knee.
