Jimma Gatwech, a stand out basketball player at Huntington Prep in West Virginia, continues to drop the jaws of basketball fans. The 6-foot-4 guard has insane leaping ability and has managed to pull off some of the best in-game dunks you will ever see.
In his most recent highlight-reel finish at the rim, Gatwech was suiting up for his AAU club Mudiay Elite for a game in Las Vegas when he paid homage to one of the best dunks in NBA Dunk Contest history.
Gatwech was approaching the rim with an open court before leaping into the air and going underneath both legs. It was the same dunk that Orlando Magic star Aaron Gordon landed to win the 2016 dunk contest.
As you would expect, the auditorium erupted when Gatwech completed the jam.
Check it out:
The dunk was incredible enough when Aaron Gordon pulled it off in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, but to pull off the move during live-game action is absolute bananas.
And just because it was so impressive, here is another look at what Gatwech pulled off.
This isn’t the first time that Jimma Gatwech went viral because of his leaping ability and dunk repertoire, either.
Back in January, Gatwech was in the middle of a game when he jumped a passing lane to snag a steal. Once again with an open lane to the basket, Gatwech showed off his bounce. Instead of your basic dunk from a high school, Gatwech was able to go behind the back to once again wow the crowd.
Call us crazy, but this kid just might have a future.
Currently, Gatwech is an unranked prospect in the Class of 2020, according to 247 Sports. However, he has scholarship offers from the LSU Tigers and Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. We will have to see where Gatwech ultimately ends up or whether he will pick up more offers as he continues to add to his highlight reel.
In the meantime, let’s appreciate that rare bounce.
