UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones is once again in the headlines for a less than flattering incident outside of the cage. According to a report from KRQE News in New Mexico, Jones was charged with battery after an alleged incident at a strip club.
The incident allegedly involved Jones slapping a waitress and pulling her down on his lap before forcing a kiss on her.

It stems from a visit at TD’s Eubank Showclub in April. According to Albuquerque Police, a cocktail waitress called officers to her home and told them Jones slapped her inappropriately, and pulled her down to his lap and kissed her neck, while she was at work. The waitress told police he also placed her in a chokehold and picked her up off the ground. When she told him to stop, Jones allegedly kept touching her until he decided to leave. He was then charged with battery.
Jones’ team, however, is denying the news.
“Today, the media told Mr. Jones about a false accusation launched against him and that paperwork had been sent to an incorrect address,” Jon Jones spokesperson James Hallinan’ said in a statement. “However, after receiving the documents from the press, Mr. Jones immediately went to pay the small fee, and he, and multiple witnesses, stand ready to factually refute the malicious lies being told about him to the public.”
Jones also commented on Twitter saying, “I’m definitely not in any trouble my friend, don’t be so quick to believe everything you read on the Internet.”

Jones appeared in Metro Court on Sunday, July 20 and paid $300 cash bond after a bench warrant was issued. However, he was not arrested.
Jones last competed on Saturday, July 6 against Thiago Santos in Las Vegas, Nevada. Jones won the bout via split decision in what was one of his toughest bouts to date.
