The Lion King is set to hit theaters on Friday, July 19 and early reviews have been praising the film’s CGI. Up until this point, however, we have only heard small clips of the audio from the star-studded cast which features the likes of Beyonce and Donald Glover.
Well, with the film now just over one week away, that is all changing.
On Wednesday, July 10, a new song titled “Spirit” was released. The track is sung by Beyonce and brings a soulful feel to the soundtrack. And on Thursday, July 11, we finally got to hear the full audio from the hit song “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.”
Beyonce and Donald Glover team up to make the magic happen, while also being joined by Seth Rogen, who voices Pumbaa, and Billy Eichner, who plays Timon.
You can listen to the new rendition of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” below.
Beyonce & Donald Glover – ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight’
[Verse 1: Billy Eichner & Seth Rogen]
I can see what’s happening (I can’t, what?)
And they don’t have a clue (Who’s they?)
They’ll fall in love and here’s the bottom line
Our trio’s down to two (Oh, I get it)
The sweet caress of twilight (Yep)
There’s magic everywhere (It’s everywhere)
And with all this romantic atmosphere
Disaster’s in the air
[Chorus: Beyoncé & Donald Glover]
Can you feel the love tonight?
The peace the evening brings
The world, for once, in perfect harmony
With all its living things
[Verse 2: Donald Glover]
So many things to tell her
But how to make her see
The truth about my past? Impossible
She’d turn away from me
[Verse 3: Beyoncé]
He’s holding back, he’s hiding
But what, I can’t decide
Why won’t he be the king I know he is
The king I see inside?
[Chorus: Beyoncé & Donald Glover]
Can you feel the love tonight?
The peace the evening brings
The world, for once, in perfect harmony
With all its living things
Can you feel the love tonight?
You needn’t look too far
Stealing through the night’s uncertainties
Love is where they are
[Outro: Billy Eichner & Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner & Seth Rogen]
And if he falls in love tonight
It can be assumed
His carefree days with us are history
In short, our pal is doomed
