Megan Rapinoe had an incredible showing during the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. The United States women’s national team co-captain helped lead the USWNT to its fourth World Cup title while also taking home the tournament’s top individual honors.

Rapinoe won the World Cup golden treble by adding the Golden Boot as the top scorer in the tournament and the Golden Ball as the best player in the 2019 Women’s World Cup.

To celebrate their accomplishments, the USWNT made the trip to New York City on Wednesday, July 10 for a ticker-tape parade honoring the women.

While addressing the crowd, Rapino took the time to call for love and unity.

“This is my charge to everyone. We have to be better. We have to love more; hate less. We gotta listen more and talk less. We gotta know that this is everybody’s responsibility,” she told the crowd. “Every single person here. Every single person who’s not here. Every single person who doesn’t want to be here. Every single person who agrees and doesn’t agree. It’s our responsibility to make this world a better place.”

To close off her epic speech, Rapinoe hit the crowd with the perfect mic drop.

“New York City. You’re the motherf—king best,” Rapinoe shouted to close out the ceremony which was being broadcast on live television.

There’s really no better way to say it.

Congratulations to Rapinoe and all of the United States women’s national team members for bringing home the trophy and continuing to inspire young girls and boys across the country. And let’s hope that they continue to party hard because they deserve it.

As for what’s next for the USWNT’s celebration tour, we’ll have to see, but all eyes will be on whether they are ultimately invited to the White House for a celebration with President Donald Trump.
