Cameron Boyce, a rising star most popularly known for his success on the Disney Channel, has died at age 20. The heartbreaking news was confirmed on Sunday, July 7. According to his family, Cameron passed away in his sleep on Saturday, July 6.
Paramedics reportedly rushed to the actor’s home but were unable to revive him.
“It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron. He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated,” his family announced in a statement to E! News.
“The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him. We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother,”
Boyce was most known for his roles in Descendants and Jessie.
Boyce has also been involved in a number of future movie and television projects like Grown Ups 2, Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up and Ultimate Spider-Man. His acting debut came back in 2008 opposite Adam Sandler in Grown Ups. Boyce completed production of the upcoming Disney Channel movie Descendants 3 which is set to release on Aug. 3.
