The “Bottle Cap Challenge” is the latest viral sensation to take social media by storm and UFC star Conor McGregor is getting in on the fun. Last week, when the #BottleCapChallenge was first gaining moment, UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway flawlessly pulled it off.

He went on to issue some challenges of his own, with McGregor finally having his name called on.

When it came time for McGregor to complete the challenge, he did it with ease all while holding a bottle of his Proper Twelve whiskey and plugging the product. Oh, and then he issued a challenge to an old rival: Floyd Mayweather Jr.

The challenge requires participants to unscrew a water cap with a kick.

Here’s Conor McGregor’s impressive effort:

Other celebrities who have participated in the challenge are actor Jason Statham and singer John Mayer. Both men also had impressive efforts of their own.

Mayer received his challenge from Max Holloway, which really began the viral push for the #BottleCap Challenge. As you would expect, a flashy striker like Holloway had no problem with the task at hand.

Be curious my friends! #challengeaccepted #bottlecapchallenge Passing this on to our guy @JohnMayer …. hey John if you can’t complete this challenge @erlsn and I decided you have to come to Hawaii after your tour and kick it with us until you complete it! 🦶🍾😅 🙏⚡🤙 👊 pic.twitter.com/gLWn0dpOzV

As for where the challenge first began, it all tracks back to Taekwondo and Hapkido World Champion Farabi Davletchin.

Who will be next?

McGregor, meanwhile, has called for a rematch with UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov — who was the last man to defeat him — and has also hinted that he would like to rematch Floyd Mayweather Jr. inside of the boxing ring. Whether any of those bouts was actually in the works is anyone’s guess, but they seem to be the only bouts that have piqued the brash Irishman’s interest since he began discussing a return to combat sports following his flurry of legal issues and suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his post-UFC 229 bout with Nurmagomedov and his team.
