LOOK: Cage Warriors 106 Called Early, ‘Excessive Blood’ Made Cage Unsafe

Cage Warriors 106 took place on Saturday, June 29 with a whopping six championship bouts at the Hammersmith Apollo in London, England. The night featured a flyweight, featherweight, vacant lightweight, middleweight, and light heavyweight title fights, along with a welterweight unification bout in the main event.

As you would expect, it was an action-packed and thrilling night, but it came to a bizarre end during the main event between 170-pound champ Ross Houston and interim titleholder Nicolas Dalby.

Darby suffered a nasty cut early in the first round that was leaking blood throughout the fight. In the second round, Houston suffered a broken nose and also began to pour blood onto the canvas.

In Round 3, the canvas was soaked in blood and neither fighter was able to get their footing, slipping and sliding around the cage. That led to referee Marc Goddard stepping in to call the fight due to unsafe conditions in the cage that was caused by excessive blood.
