Rapper Lil Xan is back in the headlines after a recent statement where he opened up about his personal issues and struggles. In a post on Instagram, Lil Xan, whose birth name is Nicholas Diego Leanos, revealed that he suffered a relapse on his road to sobriety.

In late 2018, Lil Xan announced that he was heading to rehab in an attempt to get himself sober after struggling with multiple addictions.

In December of the same year, the 22-year-old said that he had become sober.

However, as Lil Xan continues to recover, he suffered the same setback that a lot of addicts do when he relapsed on drugs.

“I love you guys so much, wanted to let you guys know I’m tapering off the last bit of norcos I’ve been addicted to,” he wrote in an Instagram post. “You can get better I promise, there’s no shame in relapsing it happens to anyone who goes through these issues, I’ve been feeling like death from withdrawals but I know once I’m sober I’ll feel amazing, I love you guys to death and I’m forever grateful for my fans who have supported me through everything.

“I thank my haters for teaching me that negativity on social media doesn’t matter at f*cking all.”

Lil Xan previously admitted to being addicted to Xanax, opiates, and other benzodiazepines. He has been open about urging others to avoid falling into the same traps that led him to his addiction.

Earlier this year, Lil Xan found himself in the headlines after allegedly pulling a gun on another man during an altercation at a Los Angeles gas station. The altercation reportedly stemmed from previous comments the rapper made about legendary emcee Tupac Shukar, who he called boring.

The case was referred to the Los Angeles Police Department.
