Beth Chapman, the wife of Duane “Dog” Chapman and star of the reality show Dog the Bounty Hunter, is dead at age 51. Beth had been in a medically induced coma for the past few days and her death was confirmed on Wednesday, June 26.

Her husband confirmed her death on social media.

“It’s 5:32 in Hawaii, this is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head mountain,” Duane wrote on Twitter. “Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.”

Beth had been diagnosed with stage II throat cancer in 2017 but was cancer-free by the end of that year. In November 2018, it was announced that Beth’s cancer returned and she underwent aggressive chemotherapy. Unfortunately, the battle with cancer got to be too much and on Mother’s Day in 2019 she stopped undergoing chemo treatments.

All of the information we know about Beth’s passing can be seen below.

Beth Chapman Cause of Death: Cancer

On Monday, June 24, it was announced that Beth had been placed in a medically induced coma. Beth was hospitalized the previous Friday in Honolulu, Hawaii after having difficulty breathing and passing out, according to the family spokeswoman Mona Wood-Sword. She was placed in a coma after attempting to rip out tubes and being uncooperative with doctors during her treatment, according to TMZ.

Beth was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2017 and later diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.

From TMZ:

Beth became a licensed bail bondsman at age 29 — the youngest in Colorado history. Her record was broken by her stepdaughter, Lyssa Chapman, who became licensed at age 19. She met Dog when she was 19 and he was 35 … when she got in trouble with the law. She was in a grocery store and got distracted by a call from her boss, and she walked out with a lemon and got stopped for shoplifting. Turns out she had an unregistered, unlicensed gun in her pocket — she had taken it from her then-boyfriend who was drunk at the time — and Beth’s dad called Dog to bail her out.

Our deepest condolences are with Beth’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult and tragic time.
