The 2019 BET Awards — hosted by Regina Hall — were held on Sunday, June 23 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. A number of the top stars in entertainment took the stage to accept and present awards to honor the standouts in music and the silver screen.
Cardi B, who had a leading seven nominations, performed on the night and also picked up wins for Album of the Year and Best Female Hip-Hop Artist of the year.
Nipsey Hussle was honored posthumously with the Male Hip-Hop Artist of the Year award and was also honored with the Humanitarian Award for his work as an entrepreneur and community activist.
Other special honorees were Mary J. Blige, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Tyler Perry who was named the Ultimate Icon.
