Skip Bayless loves bringing the sports debate to television with his wild hot takes. More often than not, there is outlandish commentary that comes out of his mouth but what happened on Wednesday, June 19 may have taken the cake.
Bayless was discussing the controversy involving Houston Rockets stars James Harden and Chris Paul when he regurgitated a fake report from a parody account that led to an incredibly embarrassing moment on FOX Sports 1’s morning show Undisputed.
Bayless was duped by the popular troll account @SportsTalkBarry — aka “Barry McCockiner” — which was posing as ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.
The troll account claimed that Chris Paul repeatedly made fun of Harden during practice for having “manboobs” to the point that it made Harden cry on multiple occasions. Pretty ridiculous, right?
Well, Skip bought the report hook, line, and sinker and repeated it on air.
The fake report read: “Sources tell ESPN that Chris Paul repeatedly made fun of James Harden for having ‘manboobs’ during practices over the last two seasons. Several times Harden broke down into tears and had to leave the practice facility. No surprise to see Harden wanting Paul out now.”
You can watch the embarrassing moment below:
Come on, Skip. You’re supposed to be a pro.
But considering Skip Bayless is one of the most polarizing personalities in the sports media world, this clip is going to be used to relentlessly troll him for the foreseeable future. And we can’t see it getting old anytime soon.
As for Barry, take a bow good sir.
We often see Barry getting people to take his bait in the replies on various Twitter threads, but this has to be one of his most successful troll jobs to date. I mean, he really got Skip Bayless to talk about manboobs live on FOX Sports 1.
