Actress Lena Headey recently appeared at Munich Comic Con where she discussed Game of Thrones and shared some insight into a few key decisions that were made behind the scenes. As it turns out, one of those decisions was to cut an emotional and big moment for her character Cersei.

According to a video that surfaced on social media, the show decided to cut out a scene that would have confirmed Cersei had a miscarriage.

Headey says that the scene was a “traumatic, great moment for Cersei.”

“We shot a scene that never made it in to season seven which was where I lose the baby,” Headey told the crowd in attendance. “And it was a really kind of traumatic and grave moment that never made it in. I loved doing that because I thought it would have served a different meaning.”

From a report from Express.co.uk:

One Reddit user shared what the leak allegedly said, sharing: “The scene read: And back in the Red Keep, Cersei wakes in the night. “Something is wrong. She gets out of bed, grabs a lanterns and sees that her nightgown is soaked in blood, the bedsheets soaked in blood. “She screams, and the scream echoes from the top of the highest tower of the Red Keep’,” shared Steppen-Wolf.

As for the fans who were left wanting more from the show’s ending, they will have to wait until at least the summer of 2020 to see how George R.R. Martin wraps up his A Song of Ice and Fire book series which inspired the show. The finale two books of the series will be titled “The Winds of Winter” and “A Dream of Spring!” Let’s hope they are all worth the wait.
