Christen Press is one of the women representing the United States at the 2019 FIFA World Cup in France. The star striker also plays in the National Women’s Soccer League as a member of Utah Royals FC. The 30-year-old was also a member of the 2015 World Cup winning team.
She was also a member of the USWNT during the 2014 and 2018 CONCACAF Women’s Championship teams, 2018 Tournament of Nations, and 2016 and 2018 She Believes Cup.
Before turning pro, Press was a member of the Stanford Cardinal women’s soccer team where she is the all-time leading scorer. She also broke school records for career points, assists, and shots, along with setting single-season records for goals, shots, and game-winning goals. In 2010, she was the winner of the Hermann Trophy as the top player in the country.
She was also the Pac-10 Player of the Year and Soccer America Player of the Year Award in the same year.
