The Ultimate Fighting Championship continues to roll out episodes of its hit documentary series “UFC 25 Years in Short.” The series — which received a Sports Emmy Award nomination in the “Outstanding Edited Sports Special or Series” category — first premiered in 2018.
In recent weeks, however, the promotion has been releasing the videos to the official UFC YouTube account.
In its latest episode released to YouTube, the UFC dropped its feature on former light heavyweight champion and The Ultimate Fighter season 1 champion Forrest Griffin, who had one of the most memorable and important fights in UFC history against Stephan Bonner. The documentary is titled “FINDING FORREST: The Story of Forrest Griffin.”
Griffin retired from mixed martial arts on May 26, 2013, during a press conference following UFC 160. Griffin, who had been dealing with injuries, cited the chronic injuries for his decision to retire. He was later inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame on July 6 of the same year.
Following his fighting career, Griffin also released two books Got Fight?: 50 Zen Principles of Hand-to-Face Combat and Be Ready When The Shit Goes Down: A Survival Guide to the Apocalypse.
He is currently the Vice President of Athlete Development for UFC and works at the UFC Performance Institute in Las Vegas.
