Now that Game of Thrones has sailed off into the sunset, Netflix’s massive sci-fi hit Strangers Things takes the crown as the most-discussed series on television.
The third season of the massive Netflix hit, which is set to premiere on the streaming service on Thursday, July 4, is supposedly the most emotional yet, at least according to series star David Harbour.
Speaking at MCM Comic-Con in London on Saturday, May 25, Harbour went into some detail about the show’s upcoming third season, particularly some of the season’s more “moving” and “surprising” moments in the season’s eighth episode.
“Millie [Eleven] is growing up and I think that’s the terrifying thing for Hopper. He doesn’t like the idea of his baby daughter hanging out with boys. So the season starts with him a little bit uncomfortable,” Harbour began [via Digital Spy].
“His daughter is becoming a teenager and beginning to find herself, so that’s scarier for Hopper than any Demogorgon creature that he’s going to have to deal with,” he explains.
“You get to see a lot of that throughout the season and it’s very unexpected what happens in the end and it’s very, very moving. I think episode eight is the most moving thing we’ve ever shot,” Harbour concluded.
Other than Millie Bobby Brown (the actress who plays Eleven), no one on Stranger Things have seen their public profile blow up more than Harbour, who was nominated for an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Chief Jim Hopper.
Since his star turn as fan favorite Chief Hopper, Harbour has gone on to star as Hellboy in the recent Hellboy reboot, as well as landing a role opposite Chris Hemsworth in the upcoming drama film Dhaka.
The third season of Netflix’s hit series ‘Stranger Things’ is set to debut on the streaming giant on Thursday, July 4.
