Folks, if you didn’t enjoy the Game of Thrones finale, then quickly divert your attention elsewhere because the video you’re about to see will make you TRIGGERED.
WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS FOR ‘GAME OF THRONES’ SEASON 8, EPISODE 6 WILL FOLLOW.
Towards the end of the Game of Thrones series finale — “The Iron Throne” — a brand new small council can be seen convening in the Red Keep.
Consisting of Tyrion Lannister, Ser Bronn of the Blackwater, Ser Davos Seaworth, Ser Brienne of Tarth, Samwell Tarley, and Ser Podrick Payne, the newly-formed small council to “Bran the Broken” was made up of some of the show’s biggest fan favorites.
And while some thought the levity of this small council scene provided a fitting send-off to some of the series’ most beloved characters, others were none too thrilled as they felt the scene leaned too hard on its comedic elements.
So, in an effort to prove just how sitcom-y this scene was, some evil genius on Reddit decided to add an authentic laugh track to the scene to horrifying effect.
No matter how you felt about the finale, or this scene in particular, after watching the laugh track version, it’s easy to see just how close Game of Thrones was flying to the sitcom-sun in this scene.
That said, I suppose one overly comedic scene is the price you have to pay for all of your favorite characters making it out alive. If you had told me at the beginning of season 8 that Brienne of Tarth, Bronn, Tyrion Lannister, Davos Seaworth, Samwell Tarley, and Podrick Payne would ALL survive, I would straight up call you a liar right to your face.
HBO’s Emmy Award-winning and record-breaking fantasy drama series ‘Game of Thrones’ — which first premiered on April 17, 2011 — concluded its epic eight-season run on Sunday, May 19.
