Jenny Dell is a sports reporter who has heavily covered New England sports. Prior to joining CBS Sports as an NFL reporter, Dell worked for the New England Sports Network where she covered the MLB’s Boston Red Sox.
While covering the Red Sox, Dell began dating then-third baseman Will Middlebrooks. The pair got engaged in July 2014 and went on to get married in February 2016 before having their first child, a daughter named Madison Dell Middlebrooks.
“No one can prepare you for the emotional rollercoaster of IVF,” Jenny said in an interview with The Spun.
“There are so many highs, lows and unknowns. When you add in a ton of hormones, your emotions all over the place, it’s a stressful process. Celebrate the small victories along the way, and find someone you can talk to daily. I wouldn’t have been able to get through it without the support of my friend, Claire, who I met on an IVF Support Group on Facebook. She’s turned into one of my best friends and we still talk every single day.
“Will and I would wake up to the sun shining into our room, we would go and get our 7-month-old daughter, Madison, out of her crib (her morning smiles are my favorite) and head downstairs to make a big breakfast! We would go on a hike, filled with beautiful sights and views and then head to the beach for a picnic lunch! We would spend the afternoon playing in the waves, and having some cocktails with our feet in the sand. After a solid afternoon beach nap, we would head home, shower up and I would make a delicious dinner for all our family and friends! To cap off the night, we watch an exciting, down to the second, football game on TV…then my daughter sleeps an uninterrupted 12 hours straight”
Dell studied Hospitality and Tourism Management at UMass Amherst before beginning her career.
