Hannah Murray, born in Bristol, England on July 1, 1989, is an English actress who is best known for her performance as the Wilding Gilly on the Emmy award-winning HBO fantasy drama series Game Of Thrones and as Cassie Ainsworth in the teenage drama series Skins
Born and raised in Bristol, Murray eventually graduated with a degree in English from Queens’ College in Cambridge before pursuing a career in acting.
Her acting career got off to a fast start, as her first major role was as Cassie Ainsworth in the 2007 teen drama series Skins. Murray appeared in 19 of the 61 episodes of Skins.
In between Skins and being cast in Game Of Thrones, Murray appeared in films such as In Bruges, Womb, and Chatroom.
In addition to Game of Thrones, Murray has appeared in a handful of television shows such as Agatha Christie’s Marple, and Above Suspicion: the Red Dahlia.
Beginning in 2012, Murray began appearing as Gilly in the HBO Emmy Award-winning fantasy drama series Game Of Thrones. At the time of this writing (prior to Season 8, Episode 3), the Gilly character has appeared in 25 episodes of Game Of Thrones.
Following her em>Game of Thrones fame, Murray starred in numerous movies such as Wings, Dark Shadows, Little Glory, The Numbers Station, God Help the Girl, Lily & Kat, Bridgend, The Chosen, Detroit, and Charlie Says.
