Bellator returns to New York on Saturday, May 11, with Bellator 221. The event is headlined by a lightweight championship bout between current titleholder Michael Chandler and Patricio “Pitbull” Freire.
In the co-main event, a welterweight grand prix semifinal takes place with former champion Douglas Lima taking on Michael “Venom” Page.
Bellator 221 also includes former champion Pat Curran, undefeated AJ McKee, former WWE star “Jack Swagger” aka Jake Hager, and former knockout of the year candidate Tywan Claxton.

*Rodriguez came in heavy for the bantamweight fight. Leon gained weight to get within the Illinois commission’s allowable weight discrepancy to allow the bout to proceed at a catchweight, and Rodriguez forfeits 50 percent of his show money to Leon.
